BioBrew Berlin: 0 Plastic 0 Aluminium

Projekt eingereicht am:

A project by Café Mundi in partnership with Global Goals Berlin. With the “BioBrew Berlin: 0 Plastic 0 Aluminium” project, an ecological, socially responsible, and economically viable initiative is emerging for Berlin’s hospitality sector. As a forward-looking action by Café Mundi in cooperation with Global Goals Berlin, it connects tangible resource reduction with a clear commitment to climate protection, circular economy, and sustainable consumption. The project’s goal is the complete replacement of conventional plastic coffee capsules in hotel rooms with biodegradable, plant-based alternatives – delivering measurable impact: more than 141 tons of plastic and over 650 tons of CO₂ can be saved annually if this transition is implemented citywide. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda form the foundation of the project philosophy and are embedded in every implementation step – from partner selection to pilot testing and public visibility via the SDG Map. Participation in the Global Goals Award 2025 and integration into Berlin’s sustainability network amplify the project’s reach. “BioBrew Berlin: 0 Plastic 0 Aluminium” stands for a new kind of product responsibility – visible, effective, and scalable. Cooperation with hotels, suppliers, and city stakeholders is supported by training, environmental monitoring, and transparent reporting. Read more on the attached PDF.
